Early Evening

This expansive sky blankets the landscape below with a myriad of tonal qualities, the evening drawing closer. Painting in a tonal style enables me to juxtapose soft blended areas of the work with harder more defined details. Over-blending can swamp an outcome, so a careful approach to striking a suitable balance here was essential. The piece references the daily occurrence of our setting sun.
